There’s a lot of confusion, surrounding our world, bringing fear, and despair. Not knowing what tomorrow may bring to pass. The newspapers, radio, and television, throughout social media on every platform, something is being said, concerning the Coronavirus. And it just seems no matter how hard you try to remove this nightmare out of your mind it just seems like it won’t go away. Today I’m going to give you some ways that you can be kind to your mind and your body. And give you a true way to escape the negative that has been thrown at you in every direction.
You can start by creating a morning ritual, a typical habit that drains Ojas, which Ayurveda defines as your fundamental energies, is to begin your day in a worried state, immediately checking your to do list, or your emails, or your Facebook page. Rather than hit the ground running let us establish a morning ritual that allows you to connect to the part of you that sincerely feels happy to be alive in your body.
Begin, by creating your own am practice, such as drinking a cup of tea, in your favorite cozy chair. Light a candle and set an intention for your day. Or try spinning a few minutes meditating, journaling, moving through Sun Salutations, or simply petting your dog, or cat. When you start your day with a moment of contentment, you can actually revisit that sensation later in the day to protect your Ojas when stress levels rise.
If you have flaky, rough or cracked skin, oiling it is a great countermeasure that helps replenish Ojas, says Melanie Sachs, who is the author of Ayurvedic Beauty Care: Ageless Techniques to Invoke the Natural Beauty. “Oil is the perfect skin-food, without a doubt, deeply moisturizing and gently cleaning and protective,” says Melanie. Massaging the skin with oil also helps lymphatic fluids clean the body of cell waste, bacteria, excess fluid, and viruses, says Ayurvedic doctor Pratima Raichur, who is the founder of the Pratima Ayurvedic Spa in New York City.
And my friends, an oil massage it’s a way of showing yourself true kindness, relaxing the mind and body. “Snehana, a common Ayurvedic practice, means to ‘anoint the body with oil; and it’s secondary meaning is love, says Melanie. Choose JoJoba or argan oil for the face because they are light and similar to the Skin’s natural sebum, making them less likely to clog your pores, Melanie adds, however, for a full-body self-massage, she suggested warm sunflower oil or sesame oil.
Try to find a little silence for yourself, relaxation and quiet time replenish Ojas, so making time to give your senses a rest can help maintain your vital beauty, says Larissa Carlson, who is the former Dean of the Kripalu School of Ayurveda. “The practice of silence can build your ability for self-reflection, to start to notice the thoughts and emotions and desires that come up without reacting to them,” Carlson says. To create a moment of silence anywhere, Dr. John Douillard, who is the founder of LifeSpa, suggests closing your eyes for a one-minute breathing practice. Start with 30 seconds of Bhastrika Pranayama (A.K.A. Bellows Breath):
Relax your shoulders, and take a few deep full breath from your abdomen, then start a cycle of quick forceful exhations and inhalations through your nose one, second per breath. Power your breath from your diaphragm, always keeping your head, neck, shoulders, and chest still your while your belly moves In and Out. (if you start to feel a little light-headed, take a break.) After 30 seconds, sit very still, keeping your eyes closed, and breathe normally for another 30 seconds, soaking up all that silence. This exercise will ramp up the amount of energizing oxygen in your body while calming your beautiful mind.
If you really don’t have the time for a long yoga practice, even one pose-ideally a heart opener-can ease the stress and boosts Ojas. Try a restorative backbend, such as Supta-Baddha-Konasana (a Reclining Bound Angle Pose), to open and soften your heart.
THIS IS HOW TO DO IT:
- Sit at the edge of a stack of folded blankets,
a pillow, or a bolster. Slowly lower yourself to
a reclined position with support under your
entire back. Support your head with an extra
folded blanket.
- Now bring the soles of your feet together and let
your knees fall open. Support them with additional
folded blankets or pillows.
- Lay your arms on the floor, with your palms up.
*Hole for one to five minutes, breathing very deeply.
To come out, bring your knees back together and
place your feet flat on the floor.
Be Always grateful for you, instead of criticizing yourself for not living up to your own expectations, or someone else’s, take time to appreciate a unique aspect of yourself. Maybe it’s how you find humor in some tough situations, or how you remembered to call your grandfather last week, or how you held the door open for someone whose hands were filled with groceries or something. Give thanks for who you are and what you have and also for others. “When we practice gratitude it makes us happy,” says Raichur. And my friends, it feeds Ojas, giving you a lasting sense of contentment.
Calm down at night, create for yourself a wind down routine at night. It will help you receive that deep sleep, that you want. Try massaging your feet, and here is a foot soak to try: Fill a basin with warm water and add 1 Cup of Epson salt, 1/2 cup of honey, 2 cups of warm milk, and a few drops of lavender essential oil. Soak your tootsies, you’re going to feel so very good. You owe it to yourself, because you are truly unique and beautiful.
My dear friends, with all of our hearts, my team and I only want the very best for you. We want you to be healthy, happy, and to have an abundance. You have heard us say this before, that our mission is to sincerely give you the tools to live a long happy healthy quality life. Evidence has accumulating that adding CBD to your routine can have a clear therapeutic benefit, without any side effects. Animal research that subjected mice to stressful situations demonstrated that CBD had both anti anxiety and anti-depressive characteristics. And brain scans of humans with generalized social anxiety disorder found that the subjects who took CBD showed different brain activity in the areas that process emotions and reported feeling less anxious.
Another fascinating study had subjects with generalized social anxiety disorder perform a simulated public speaking test; the ones who took CBD beforehand had way less anxiety, cognitive and discomfort than the placebo group. So my dear friends, CBD oil can help you to overcome stress and anxiety. For information on some of the best CBD products on this planet, MyDailyChoice (HEMPWORX), please click the link below.

Your post couldn’t come at a better time. I find myself for the first time in my life taking that morning time that you talk about. Relaxing with my cup of coffee and just taking the time to slowly thing about my day.
I have really enjoyed the quiet time, funny enough. We really don’t take the time for our body or our mind. We are always to darn busy. This time has given us the opportunity to work on these things.
I do also stretch on my yoga mat everyday and take 15 mins to just loosen up a bit. I am going to work on the meditation, as I think it would help once things get back to normal.
Great job and I really enjoyed your post.
