In other words my friends, those who ate the green for the first time, just two hours before hitting the treadmill experience the same benefits as those who had munched on it daily for 2 months. Watercress marks a wonderful salad base, and like spinach and kale, it can be whipped into a smoothie.

  1. I learned some things today including watercress. I have never heard about that before.I used to eat it as a kid but don’t see it as much nowadays. I think to be fair my Dad grew in the garden. 

    I’m a big fan of cherries, a great flavour and also salmon which I think it’s really a very helpful fat. I try to eat fatty fish at least once a week as in the med diet or whatever they call it. Loved the pictures by the way.

    I had not thought of honey and don’t think I have any in so I will put that right. I don’t drink coffee but was wondering if this is ok from a health food shop as an alternative in capsule form?

    I actually add dark chocolate to my chilli as well as coffee and it goes down really well now. Some great reminders here and it felt natural just reading it! Good stuff and nice blog.

Honey is one of the wonders of the food world, it gives you energy and it does so many other wonderful things for the body, you can even put it on your face as a health Lyft. And chocolate milk, I loved it since I was a kid, what a beautiful thing that is good to drink for your health.  Cherry I agree with you 100%, I love cherry and and knows that they are very good for your health,  it just brings a smile to my heart. I have known quite some time now that coffee is good for working out. I have been using it for years. Have a good cup of coffee before you workout, you will feel the energy help at every step. Honey seems to be finally getting it’s due as far as nutrition is concerned.  We love honey at our house, and use it with our coffee quite often.  I see a new smoothie with some watercress, honey and pomegranate or beet juice.  Is the juice better than a capsule?  We don’t often have beets in our market?  Sour cherries and blueberries are favorites as well.  Watermelon will be a seasonal thing, again we are a small market part of the world.  The salmon is also in short order for fresh but tastes so good.  The canned fish never as good, but good for us. 

    With the new tips you have shared, we can know a few more items to add more regularly to our diet.  In our household, we try to change a little at a time so that it can be maintained.  I have found that is a more sustainable way for us.  Hopefully, the kids will be able to maintain a better diet for life.
